A community care collective that supports people before and after the portal of birth through weekly garden gatherings.
Partum Gardens was founded by two mamas greatly transformed by their birth and postpartum; they both experienced the garden as a powerful and potent source of healing. Through their shared experience, they now hold a vision that pregnancy and postpartum can and should be a time of deep nourishment. With the recognition that well resourced and supported families create thriving communities, we honor this sacred season and hold space for others through weekly garden gatherings grounded in education and earth connection. We are a growing collective of garden educators, doulas, body workers, herbalists and somatic healers providing care that’s rooted in cultivating an earth-centered revolution for birthing bodies and their families.

“As a stay at home mama of a toddler who just arrived in Portland, Oregon last summer in the midst of a global pandemic, I was deeply yearning for a place to feel safe, and seen, and generally just socialize. I would take my daughter to classes, but never felt there was a space for the adults to connect. Honestly, I was praying for friendship, for connection. When my sister told me she had met one of the founders of Partum Gardens and about the group, I was so excited. My daughter and I got ready that Wednesday morning and headed out the door to meet some of the most truly inspiring, soulful, kind, and magical people. We are welcomed week after week with so much love and reverence for simply who we are. Annie and Heidi take care of you. They nourish you, teach you, support you, and care for you and your kids. The whole PG community is a tribe of warriors, who love their kiddo’s, and also want to practice self-love, too. In the garden, we tend to the plants, and in turn, we tune into ourselves.
It is such a blessing to be able to have my daughter witness this collective energy exchange and rich community spirit. If I could wish for anything for her, in regards to her future, it is that she too can have a system of unconditional love and support, so when times get challenging (and they do), she has a place to go. A place to get her hands dirty, pick flowers for herself, bask in the sunlight, or dance in the rain, plant seeds and watch them grow, and sit in circle with people who will honor her, no matter what the season.
Thank you Partum Gardens for being there. We love you.”
